Machinist - Valley View

DuPont is seeking a Machinist for our climate‑controlled, air‑conditioned site in Valley View, OH. The position offers a $1,000 bonus after 90 days and a pay scale of $30.06 – $36.69 per hour. Location: Valley View, Ohio, south of Cleveland, near Interstate 77, Interstate 480, and the Ohio Turnpike. The facility employs about 135 people and manufactures compression‑molded, close‑tolerance‑machined composite parts for major aerospace, commercial, and military aircraft engine manufacturers worldwide. Responsibilities Set up and operate a wide range of machine tools, both CNC and manual grinders, mills, lathes, and hones, on diverse products involving difficult operations, aerospace tolerances, and complex shapes. Use machines such as HAAS vertical mills, Toyoda grinders, Accuturn, Prodigy, Hardinge, and HAAS lathes. Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and accessories; work from and read blueprints, setting and checking work against quality control gauges. Monitor product quality, troubleshoot operating errors, and make decisions to solve problems. Collaborate with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information. Read process instructions and drawings and attend to details. Participate in customer audits and complete the Certified Operator Program (COP) and DVV’s intensive, skills‑based validation and training program. Audit processes to ensure compliance with quality practices and work instructions throughout the facility. Monitor production processes, manage product sampling, and operate mobile transport equipment. Facilitate corrective and preventive actions for supplier quality problems and source inspection issues. Issue stop or hold tags when conditions warrant and maintain quality metrics to facilitate proactive operational change. Analyze non‑conformance data, escapes, and other data sources to identify continuous improvement opportunities and support the DVV Continuous Improvement plan. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 6 months of machining experience or completed educational training program for machining. Experience machining composites, metals, and/or aluminum extrusions. Ability to use analog and manual gauges and read blueprints with tolerance. Ability to read CNC programs and set up/operate manual and CNC equipment. Proficient in shop math, geometry, and conversions. Knowledge of FANUC controls. Excellent problem‑solving, troubleshooting, oral, and written communication skills. Willingness to work any shift, overtime, weekends, evenings, and holidays as required. U.S. citizenship required for export compliance. Preferred: 3+ years of machining experience, CNC machinist certification, and knowledge/experience in Statistical Process Control.
