Accounting Manager, Shared Services

Job Title: Manager of Shared Services Accounting

Location (city, state): Ashburn, VA

Compensation: $45–$55/hour (Temporary 6-9 months, potential to extend)

Qualifications:

• Strong accounting background.
• Prior managerial experience.
• Experience overseeing AP and AR operations.
• Ability to understand, review, and approve journal entries.
• Experience with balance sheet reconciliations and month-end accounting activities.
• Ability to provide guidance to team members and respond to questions from Controllers.

Job Description:

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable operations and provide day-to-day guidance to team members.
• Manage and support Zeynap, providing direction and oversight as needed.
• Work closely with the shared services team in India to support accounting operations and resolve issues.
• Review and approve journal entries before posting, ensuring accuracy and appropriate accounting treatment.
• Understand and oversee a high volume of journal entries, including daily and biweekly entries.
• Review and support credit card journal entries, including credit card fees and related accruals.
• Ensure proper recording of P-card fees and other applicable expenses.
• Address accounting questions that arise during month-end close, including credit card fees and related entries.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations.
• Review accounts payable aging reports and work with the team to clean up outstanding items.
• Respond to questions and escalations from Controllers regarding accounting transactions and reporting.
• Support bad debt accounting and related journal entries.
• Provide some oversight of fixed asset accounting.
• Support preparation of financial reports for the UK.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure timely completion of assigned accounting activities.
