Aircraft Detailer

The Aircraft Detailer cleans, restores, and protects aircraft interiors and exteriors to a high standard of appearance and safety. This role performs detailed cleaning, waxing, and polishing of aircraft surfaces, including deep cleaning and sanitizing of cabins, to ensure every aircraft presents a clean, professional, and well-maintained appearance.

Responsibilities

• Clean and detail aircraft exteriors using wet and dry wash techniques to remove dirt, residue, and contaminants.
• Apply wax and perform paint revitalization to protect and enhance the appearance of aircraft exterior surfaces.
• Deep clean and sanitize aircraft interiors, including seats, carpets, panels, and other cabin surfaces.
• Perform leather care, including cleaning, conditioning, and protecting leather seats and surfaces.
• Remove stains from interior surfaces using appropriate cleaning products and methods.
• Clean and sanitize lavatories and galleys to maintain a hygienic and orderly environment.
• Polish brightwork and metal surfaces to a high-gloss finish while preventing damage or scratching.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures within the aircraft as needed.
• Follow established procedures, checklists, and safety guidelines for all detailing tasks.
• Work safely at heights and around aircraft, tools, and equipment, maintaining awareness of surroundings.
• Collaborate with team members to complete detailing projects efficiently and on schedule.
• Take direction from supervisors and adapt to changing priorities or work assignments as needed.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of aircraft or automotive detailing experience.
• Proficiency in cleaning, waxing, and polishing surfaces, including metal and painted finishes.
• Experience with deep cleaning and sanitizing interior spaces.
• Ability to clean, condition, and maintain leather surfaces.
• Comfort working at heights and performing physically demanding tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness and presentation.
• Reliable, safety-minded approach to work with consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to follow written and verbal procedures and take direction effectively.
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work cooperatively in a small group.
• Eligibility to work in the United States.
• Valid driver's license.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience detailing aircraft is highly beneficial.
• Experience detailing cars or other vehicles provides a strong foundation for this role.
• Demonstrated ability to handle cleaning chemicals and materials safely.
• Capability to manage time effectively and complete tasks within set timelines.

Work Environment

This role is performed on-site in an active aviation facility, working directly around aircraft and related equipment. You will be part of a small team that is in growth mode, providing a close-knit and collaborative atmosphere. Openings are available on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts, offering flexibility in scheduling. The work involves standing, bending, reaching, and working at heights for extended periods while using cleaning tools, products, and equipment in and around aircraft.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $28.00/hr.
