Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 12-hour and 8-hour shifts between 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Weekend and holiday rotation as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care to both adult and pediatric patient populations in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in accordance with established clinical protocols
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings, including identification of lethal cardiac rhythms
• Float to other units as needed based on staffing and patient care requirements
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes

Required Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin RN license or valid Compact RN license
• Minimum two (2) years of Emergency Department experience with adult and pediatric populations within the last three (3) years
• BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications – American Heart Association (AHA) only
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass a Telemetry competency exam prior to start (adult and pediatric); passing score of 80% or higher with 100% identification of lethal rhythms required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a high-volume, Level I or Level II trauma or academic medical center environment
• Familiarity with cardiac rhythm interpretation, including third-degree heart blocks and pediatric arrhythmias
