Respiratory Therapist or RN – Home Healthcare

Deliver Care Where It Matters Most – In the Patient’s Home

 

Rotech Healthcare Inc. is seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. If you’re looking for a meaningful role that allows you to build relationships, provide hands-on care, and make a lasting impact in patients’ lives—all outside of a traditional clinical setting—this is the opportunity for you. In this role, you’ll provide in-home respiratory therapy and clinical support to patients using ventilators, oxygen therapy, and other advanced equipment. You’ll be part of a team that values autonomy, patient education, and personalized care.  At this location, this position pays $35.00 to $39.00 per hour, depending on related experience, and is eligible for a bonus opportunity.

External candidates are eligible for a $2000 gross sign on bonus to be paid after 60 days and another $2000 after 180 days of continuous employment

• Conduct in-home patient assessments and provide clinical education on respiratory equipment.
• Adjust ventilator settings based on patient needs and physician orders.
• Monitor and troubleshoot advanced respiratory equipment to ensure optimal function.
• Maintain accurate documentation of services and patient interactions.
• Provide ongoing phone support and follow-up care for respiratory patients.
• Participate in on-call rotations and drive a vehicle for home visits (as needed).
• Support training and orientation of new clinical staff.

Qualifications

Employment is contingent on

• Drug screen ( when applicable for the position )
• Compliance with healthcare facility credentialing process ( when applicable for the position )
• Valid driver’s license in state of residence with a clean driving record (when applicable for the position)

Required Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or GED equivalent, required
• Credentials as a respiratory therapist, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) is preferred but other medical credentials may be acceptable (e.g., RC, RN, LPN, LPV) depending upon state licensure laws
• Must be licensed in primary state of home office as required by state law and provide a copy of license to the location
• May be required to obtain license in neighboring states as required by service area of location

Preferred Education and/or Experience

• Completion of an accredited program/degree in respiratory care preferred
• Nursing or other paramedical training may be acceptable depending upon state licensure laws
• Home respiratory care experience is preferred
• Degree in respiratory therapy or related science is preferred
• One year of related work experience, preferred

Skills and Competencies

• Accurately perform simple mathematical calculations
• Effectively communicate in English; both oral and written
• Interpret a variety of communications (verbal, non-verbal, written, listening and visual)
• Maintain confidentiality, discretion and caution when handling sensitive information
• Multi-task along with attention to detail
• Self-motivation, organized, time-management and deductive problem solving skills
• Work independently and as part of a team

Machines, Equipment and Technical Abilities

• Email transmission and communication
• Internet navigation and research
• Microsoft applications; Outlook, Word and Excel
• Office equipment; fax machine, copier, printer, phone and computer and/or tablet

Physical Demands

• Lift and carry office equipment at times
• Requires close vision to small print on computer and/or tablet and paperwork
• Requires contact with patients and equipment with potential exposure to contagious pathogens
• Requires occasional lifting and transporting of patient equipment
• Requires sitting, walking, standing, talking and listening
• Required to comply with Rotech Respiratory Protection & N95 Mask Fit Testing Policy
  • Medical Evaluation and Fit Testing Compliance in a timely manner 
  • Annual Recertification 
  • Keep face clean-shaven to ensure N95 Mask face-seal protection per OSHA guidelines
