Part-Time Program Coordinator, LGBTQ+ Culture Center Indiana University Bloomington, Bloomington, IN Type: Adjunct/Part-Time Salary: $21.10 per hour Job Summary The Part-time Program Coordinator supports student-centered programs and events that foster belonging, education, and visibility for students at Indiana University Bloomington. This role works closely with students, staff, and campus partners to develop initiatives that engage and affirm student experiences. Department‑Specific Responsibilities Plans and coordinates workshops, events, and awareness campaigns Supports logistics, budgeting, and marketing efforts for department events Partners with student organizations and departments on collaborative programming Collects and evaluates feedback to improve programming and assess impact Promotes events through campus‑wide communication and outreach strategies Develops materials and messages to enhance student awareness of programs and services Supports the day‑to‑day operations of the department, including front desk staffing and student worker supervision Contributes to internal planning and assists with special projects and campus events Participates in ongoing training, strategic planning, and departmental reporting Coordinates day‑to‑day office operations and ensures a consistent, welcoming service environment Manages purchasing and inventory of office supplies and equipment Processes documents, correspondence, and forms related to departmental functions Maintains and updates confidential records, databases, and filing systems Prepares reports and internal communications for departmental leadership Supports hiring, training, onboarding, and supervision of student or hourly staff Coordinates meetings, calendars, and general scheduling for supervisors or teams Qualifications Education Required Bachelor's degree in public affairs, public health, counseling, social work, education, business, or related field Preferred Master's degree in higher education student affairs or related field Work Experience Preferred 2 years in student services, higher education, or related field Experience supervising and mentoring graduate assistants and/or student staff, providing professional development and leadership opportunities Skills Required Proficient written and verbal communication skills Maintains a high degree of professionalism Demonstrates time management and priority setting skills Demonstrates a high commitment to quality Possesses flexibility to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment Seeks to acquire knowledge in area of specialty Develops and delivers effective presentations Demonstrates customer service skills Demonstrates ability to maintain confidential information Demonstrates excellent judgment and sound decision‑making skills Exercises tact and diplomacy in sensitive or complex situations Preferred Experience in planning, organizing, and executing student‑led programs, events, and initiatives Demonstrates ability to guide and support students in personal and professional development Proven success in fostering partnerships with campus departments, student organizations, and external stakeholders Ability to assess challenges, develop creative solutions, and make informed decisions in a fast‑paced environment Experience gathering and analyzing feedback to measure program effectiveness and inform future student engagement strategies Working Conditions / Demands This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The role involves office work across a large campus with varied terrain. Travel may also be required for professional engagements. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation. Occasional evenings or weekends may be required during the academic year. Additional Information This position is not open to undergraduate students.
