Cardiac PCU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cardiac PCU Registered Nurse (RN) for our Stepdown Cardiac unit. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in telemetry nursing, specifically within surgical tele environments.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive care for patients with cardiac conditions, including myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease, heart failure, and pre/post catheterization procedures.
Monitor and interpret telemetry readings to manage dysrhythmias effectively.
Administer medications, blood products, and perform chest tube management following established protocols.
Conduct breathing treatments and care for patients with tracheostomies while adhering to sternal precautions.
Assist in procedures such as cardioversion, defibrillation, and epicardial pacer management.
Care for specialized cases such as LVAD and post-operative open heart surgery patients.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) licensure with compact license eligibility.
Minimum of 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, with surgical tele experience preferred.
Experience in vascular management, including groin and radial band management.
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
Epic experience is a mandatory requirement.
Ability to float to similar units and work every other weekend.
Must demonstrate flexibility to adapt to changing patient care needs.

Work Schedule

This position requires night shifts, working 3 twelve-hour shifts per week. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:4 but may vary at night.
