Role Description The Apparel Fit Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Los Angeles, CA. This role is responsible for evaluating garment fit and construction on live models and dress forms, taking precise measurements, and communicating fit corrections to pattern makers and technical designers. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing samples against specs, documenting fit comments, updating measurement charts, and ensuring consistent fit across styles and seasons. The Apparel Fit Technician collaborates closely with design, product development, and production teams to maintain quality standards, solve fit issues, and support on-time delivery of collections. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong garment fitting and measuring skills, including experience with live model fittings, dress forms, and fit evaluation for multiple sizes. Candidates should possess pattern and construction skills, such as understanding pattern making, grading, seam and stitch types, and basic garment engineering. Candidates should possess technical documentation skills, including writing clear fit comments, updating spec sheets, measurement charts, and size standards. Candidates should possess collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with design, technical design, and production teams and provide concise, actionable feedback. Candidates should possess organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Relevant experience in women’s contemporary or high-end apparel fit, preferably within a fashion brand or wholesale environment, is beneficial. A background in fashion design, technical design, apparel production, or a related field (degree or equivalent experience) is beneficial.
