Patent Attorney/Patent Agent (Engineering)

Our client, a global law firm, seeks a patent agent or junior associate with a broad engineering background, including mechanical, electrical, nuclear, materials science, biomedical, or related technologies. Schedule: Hybrid 3/2 Location: Washington, D.C. Patent Attorney: $215k-$355k Relocation Assistance: Yes Responsibilities: Patent preparation and prosecution. Patent licensing. Conducting due diligence in IP transactions toward rendering opinions to clients. Working closely with clients, inventors, and firm attorneys. Patent Agent Qualifications: Admitted to practice before the USPTO. A degree in mechanical engineering, nuclear engineering, materials engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related field. 2-4 years of patent prosecution experience, either at the USPTO or in a law firm setting. Patent Attorney Qualifications: Have a minimum of 2 years of legal practice experience, including substantive patent prosecution work. A degree in mechanical engineering, nuclear engineering, materials engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related field. Prior exposure to a range of mechanical and electrical technologies. Experience with thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid flow, or energy systems is a plus.
