Duties Description Perform or assist in performing technical and agency program support of IT activities related to network and system design, configuration, maintenance, and security; customer support; business/systems analysis and design which may include web site development and administration of a transactional, dynamic or interactive web site; and the design and development of database systems. This position is on the Internet Services Administration Team in the Bureau of Software Platforms within the Chief Information Office. This team is charged with administration of critical software utilized across the agency. When issues arise, staff coordinate with technical teams and vendors to resolve. This includes installation and management of software across Unix and Windows systems, coordination with various business areas, and off-hours support. Minimum Qualifications Civil Service examinations are not required under the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide (NY HELPS) Program. Non-Competitive Qualifications for appointment under the NYHELPS Program: A bachelor\'s or higher-level degree in any field and one year of experience in information technology. OR A bachelor\'s or higher-level degree, including or supplemented by 15 credit hours in computer science courses. OR 60 semester credit hours including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science and one year of professional experience in information technology. OR A total of two years of experience in information technology. Competitive Minimum Qualifications: You must be currently reachable on the appropriate eligible list for this title, eligible under the 55 b/c program, or eligible to transfer to this title under Section 52.6, 70.1, or 70.4 of the Civil Service Law. Transfer: For 52.6, 70.1, or 70.4 transfer to an Information Technology Specialist 2, salary grade (SG)-18, you must have one year of permanent competitive, or 55-b/55-c service in an approved title for transfer allocated to an SG-16 or above.
