Maintenance Supervisor Job Location:Sonoma, California Job Type:Direct Hire Pay Rate:$87,000-$87,360/year Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8am-5pm Description of Position:Do you have experience as a Maintenance Supervisor in a food manufacturing environment? Our client is seeking an experienced, hands on maintenance leader to oversee the maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, and facility systems at a creamery. In this role, you will supervise two Maintenance Technicians, coordinate daily maintenance activities, and work closely with the Production and Packaging departments to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently. You will also help strengthen the preventative maintenance program, troubleshoot equipment issues, manage maintenance supplies, and ensure all work meets company safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate has a strong industrial maintenance background, proven supervisory experience, and a solid understanding of food manufacturing operations. Experience in the dairy industry is highly desirable. This position is well suited for someone who enjoys leading a team while remaining hands-on with troubleshooting, repairs, and continuous improvement. Job Responsibilities:Team Leadership & Daily OperationsSupervise, train, and support two Maintenance TechniciansReviews and assign daily work orders, establish priorities, and maintain the maintenance team's scheduleProvide technical guidance on complex equipment issues and root cause analysisServe as backup for technicians during absences, equipment breakdowns, or urgent maintenance needs Preventative Maintenance & Equipment ReliabilityReview, maintain, and continuously improve preventative maintenance programs for facility systems and production equipmentMonitor machinery and equipment to ensure proper operation and identify potential problems before they cause downtimeEstablish guidelines for temporary and emergency repairs while ensuring appropriate follow up and permanent solutionsMaintain departmental standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure maintenance practices are consistent Inventory, Purchasing & Vendor ManagementOrder and receive maintenance supplies, tools, parts, and equipmentMaintain accurate inventory records for maintenance parts, machinery, and vendor informationBuild and maintain productive relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers Safety, Quality, & CompliancePromote a safe work environment and ensure maintenance activities follow established safety proceduresFollow and reinforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), HACCP, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food plant security, and other applicable safety and quality programsEnsure technicians receive the training and guidance needed to perform their work safely and effectively Description of Company:Our client is located in the picturesque surroundings of Sonoma, California, where they are dedicated to producing the highest quality and best-tasting goat cheese and goat milk yogurt.
