Project Manager Opportunity

We're partnering with a well-established, employee-owned mechanical contractor that's expanding its operations in the Bakersfield area and looking to add a Project Manager to support upcoming commercial construction projects.

This opportunity offers the chance to work on large-scale healthcare, hospitality, and commercial projects, with a strong pipeline of work planned over the next five years. The company offers long-term stability, experienced leadership, and opportunities for continued career growth.

We're considering candidates at various project management experience levels who have a background in commercial HVAC or plumbing construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage commercial HVAC and/or plumbing projects from preconstruction through closeout
• Oversee project budgets, forecasting, schedules, and cost control
• Coordinate with general contractors, owners, subcontractors, vendors, and field teams
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and contract administration
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and project scopes
• Work closely with Superintendents and field teams to maintain project schedules and quality standards
• Monitor material deliveries, manpower requirements, and project milestones
• Participate in project meetings and maintain strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders
• Support quality control, inspections, and project closeout

Requirements

• Commercial HVAC or plumbing construction experience required
• Project management experience with a mechanical contractor or specialty subcontractor
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, procurement, and change orders
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and contracts
• Healthcare, hospital, casino, or other large-scale commercial project experience preferred
• Experience with HCAI/OSHPD projects
• Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar construction software preferred
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent industry experience
