SERVER ADMINISTRATOR

Sipla Holdings & Investments Inc. is seeking an experienced and dependable Server Administrator to manage, maintain, secure, and optimize our server and network infrastructure across our growing portfolio of companies and technology platforms.

This position will begin on a part-time basis and include a 90-day evaluation period. At the conclusion of the evaluation, performance, reliability, technical capability, availability, and overall organizational needs will be reviewed. Strong performance may lead to expanded hours, responsibilities, and potential advancement into a full-time position.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues, maintaining production environments, and helping build scalable systems capable of supporting expanding business operations.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The Server Administrator will be responsible for:

• Installing, configuring, maintaining, and monitoring Linux and Windows servers
• Managing dedicated servers, virtual machines, cloud environments, and related infrastructure
• Maintaining web servers, application servers, databases, DNS, and hosting environments
• Administering Linux environments including Debian and Ubuntu
• Managing MariaDB and MySQL databases
• Configuring and maintaining Apache and/or NGINX web servers
• Monitoring server performance, uptime, storage, memory, CPU utilization, and network activity
• Troubleshooting server, application, database, networking, and connectivity issues
• Managing system backups, disaster recovery procedures, and restoration testing
• Implementing server security, firewall policies, access controls, SSH security, and system hardening
• Applying security updates, operating system patches, and software upgrades
• Managing SSL/TLS certificates, domains, DNS records, and related infrastructure
• Monitoring system logs and investigating unusual or unauthorized activity
• Managing user accounts, permissions, authentication, and administrative access
• Supporting production applications and development environments
• Assisting developers with deployment, hosting, database, and server configuration issues
• Creating scripts and automation for repetitive administrative tasks
• Maintaining accurate technical documentation, configurations, procedures, and infrastructure records
• Responding to critical server incidents and outages when necessary
• Recommending infrastructure, security, redundancy, and performance improvements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates should have experience with several of the following:

• Linux server administration
• Debian and Ubuntu
• Windows Server
• MariaDB / MySQL
• Apache / NGINX
• PHP hosting environments
• DNS administration
• SSL/TLS certificate management
• Firewalls and network security
• SSH and secure remote administration
• Virtualization technologies
• Cloud infrastructure
• Dedicated server environments
• Backup and disaster recovery systems
• Server monitoring platforms
• Bash, PowerShell, Python, or similar scripting languages
• Git and deployment workflows
• Cybersecurity best practices
• Network troubleshooting

Experience supporting high-availability web platforms, mobile applications, streaming systems, social platforms, cloud infrastructure, or enterprise technology environments is strongly preferred.

90-DAY EVALUATION PERIOD

The successful candidate will begin in a part-time capacity for an initial 90-day evaluation period.

Successful completion of the 90-day evaluation may result in increased hours, expanded responsibilities, and consideration for a full-time position based on performance and company needs.

WORK ARRANGEMENT

This position supports a combination of in-person work in Sarasota, Florida and remote administration.

Some responsibilities may require the employee to be physically present for hardware installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, infrastructure upgrades, or other hands-on technical work.

Remote responsibilities may include server monitoring, administration, updates, database management, troubleshooting, documentation, and other approved duties.
