About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: CVPICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a related field License: Active nursing license in hand at the time of application Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, and PALS Must-Have: Experience in PICU or NICU, with a willingness to float to Pediatrics or Medical-Surgical Oncology floor. Description: We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for the CVPICU. The start date is flexible within the specified timeframe. Shifts will be 3x12s or 4x12s, primarily during nights. The maximum allowable Request Time Off (RTO) is 7 days. Candidates with a solid two years of experience are preferred. First-time travelers will be considered, given a strong background. Floating to other departments like PICU or NICU will be required. Weekend work commitment is four shifts per month, with some holiday shifts expected. On-call duty is not required. Candidates must possess certain certifications, including ACLS, BCLS, and PALS. The unit has a highly variable patient population, majority of whom are surgical infants. Patients may require treatments such as ECMO, Nitric Oxide, and pacemaker management. Bedside procedures such as chest tube placements and cardioversions are common. No floating to the Emergency Department or Mental Health units will occur. Patient ratios are 1-2 patients per nurse, regardless of the shift. The unit supports patients from neonates to adults, with a daily census around 12. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more. The environment is dynamic, requiring strong clinical skills and adaptability.
