Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of emergency room experience, with at least 6 months of trauma level 1 experience preferred. License: Active Registered Nurse license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS required. Must-Have: Eligibility will be considered with less than 2 years of experience based on trauma level 1 experience. Candidates must pass a competency exam prior to acceptance. Description: Seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join our team. The nurse will provide care in an acute and subacute setting. The unit has a total of 90 beds, including 6 trauma bays. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4. Daily responsibilities include assessment and monitoring of patients. Collaboration with charge nurses and other healthcare professionals is expected. Familiarity with electronic medical record systems is beneficial. Competency in Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing change is required. Opportunity for educational development in lifts, restraints, and wound care. Shift requirements include 4 total weekend shifts within a 4-week period. Staff may float between multiple facilities as needed. Common diagnoses include trauma, burns, and pediatric patients transferred to other facilities. The ER sees approximately 88,000 patients per year, averaging 250-300 patients per day. Psychiatric holds account for 30-40 cases per month. Candidates must adhere to established dress code and grooming policies. This role requires a commitment to maintaining a sterile environment during procedures.
