Job Description
A Primary Care Physician plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive medical care to patients within a small, close-knit team of 2-5 members. This role involves managing a daily patient load that often exceeds 30 individuals, providing diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care while coordinating referrals and handling occasional on-call or after-hours responsibilities. Proficiency with ECW electronic health record systems and strong clinical decision-making skills are essential in delivering effective patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
Examine and evaluate patients to diagnose medical conditions
Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to patient needs
Prescribe medications and manage prescriptions appropriately
Provide patient counseling on health maintenance and disease prevention
Manage chronic diseases through ongoing assessment and care
Coordinate referrals to specialists and monitor follow-up care
Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records using ECW EHR system
Deliver emergency care and respond to urgent medical situations
Participate in occasional on-call or after-hours clinical responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years experience in primary care medicine
Completion of residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
Board Certification in Primary Care
Strong physical examination and diagnostic skills
Expertise in prescription writing and medication management
Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (ECW)
Excellent patient communication and empathy
Proficient clinical decision-making abilities
Knowledge of preventive medicine and chronic disease management
Capable of providing emergency response when needed
