Job Description
A Primary Care Physician plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive medical care to patients within a small, close-knit team of 2-5 members. This role involves managing a daily patient load that often exceeds 30 individuals, providing diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care while coordinating referrals and handling occasional on-call or after-hours responsibilities. Proficiency with ECW electronic health record systems and strong clinical decision-making skills are essential in delivering effective patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Examine and evaluate patients to diagnose medical conditions
- Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to patient needs
- Prescribe medications and manage prescriptions appropriately
- Provide patient counseling on health maintenance and disease prevention
- Manage chronic diseases through ongoing assessment and care
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and monitor follow-up care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records using ECW EHR system
- Deliver emergency care and respond to urgent medical situations
- Participate in occasional on-call or after-hours clinical responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in primary care medicine
- Completion of residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Board Certification in Primary Care
- Strong physical examination and diagnostic skills
- Expertise in prescription writing and medication management
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (ECW)
- Excellent patient communication and empathy
- Proficient clinical decision-making abilities
- Knowledge of preventive medicine and chronic disease management
- Capable of providing emergency response when needed
