Generalist- Talent & Culture KMSADM50 Troy, MI, US 2 days ago Requisition ID: 1240 Salary Range: $60,000.00 To $70,000.00 Annually About the Opportunity KIRCO is looking for a motivated, people-focused HR Generalist to join our Talent & Culture team. This is an opportunity for an HR professional who has built a strong foundation in Human Resources and is ready to broaden their experience, take greater ownership, and continue developing their career. We are looking for someone who enjoys being involved in the day-to-day work of HR while also thinking about how we can improve the Associate experience. The right person will be approachable, proactive, organized, adaptable, and eager to learn . They should be comfortable working independently, collaborating with leaders and Associates, and jumping in wherever the team needs support. This role will have exposure to the full Associate lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, benefits, payroll support, employee relations, HR systems, policies, compliance, and employee engagement. What You’ll Do Manage and support recruiting efforts for positions across the organization. Partner with hiring managers to understand position requirements and identify strong candidates. Review resumes, conduct initial candidate screenings, coordinate interviews, and support candidates throughout the hiring process. Maintain consistent recruiting processes while providing a positive candidate experience. Assist with job postings, assessments, reference checks, background screenings, and pre-employment activities. Help identify opportunities to improve recruiting processes and expand candidate pipelines. Associate Support & HR Operations Serve as a trusted and approachable HR resource for Associates with questions regarding policies, benefits, payroll, timekeeping, and other HR matters. Support new-hire onboarding and help ensure Associates have a positive and organized introduction to KIRCO. Assist with employee relations matters, documentation, and follow-up in partnership with Talent & Culture leadership. Support payroll and timecard processes and help resolve Associate questions or discrepancies. Assist with benefits administration, enrollment, eligibility, and Associate questions. Maintain accurate employee information within the HRIS and ensure appropriate documentation is completed and maintained. Assist with leaves of absence, employment changes, offboarding, and other employee lifecycle activities. Help maintain HR policies, procedures, and documentation in accordance with company practices and applicable employment requirements. Support compliance activities across the states where KIRCO Associates work. Assist with employee communications, training programs, engagement initiatives, and company events. Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, documentation, and the overall Associate experience. Partner with the broader Talent & Culture team on special projects and department initiatives. What We’re Looking For We’re looking for someone who: Has a strong interest in continuing to build a career in Human Resources. Enjoys being a true HR generalist and working across different areas rather than specializing in only one function. Is approachable and comfortable building relationships with Associates at all levels of the organization. Takes ownership and follows issues through to resolution. Has good judgment and understands when an issue needs to be escalated. Is proactive and looks for ways to help rather than waiting for the next assignment. Can balance multiple priorities while remaining organized and detail-oriented. Communicates professionally and thoughtfully, particularly when handling sensitive situations. Is comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where priorities may shift. Is willing to ask questions, receive feedback, and continue learning. Understands the importance of confidentiality, consistency, and professionalism in Human Resources. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Approximately 2–4 years of Human Resources experience preferred. Experience supporting recruiting and the hiring process strongly preferred. General knowledge of HR practices, employment policies, benefits, payroll, and employee relations. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational, follow-through, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams. Experience with an HRIS and/or applicant tracking system preferred; ADP Workforce Now experience is a plus.
