We are on the lookout for a dedicated and enthusiastic Contingent OB Hospitalist Physician to become part of our team in Muskegon, MI. This role presents a fantastic chance to significantly contribute to the health of our community while thriving in a supportive, mission-oriented setting.

Opportunity Overview

• Provide comprehensive in-house coverage and management for obstetric patients, including labor and delivery, obstetric emergencies, and postpartum care.
• Our Birth Center offers private, comfortable birthing rooms that resemble a home-like environment.
• Work 24-hour shifts (from 7 AM to 7 AM) on a rotating schedule.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of patient care.
• Our facility includes a Level II Special Care Nursery for infants needing additional support, with a Level III NICU available in Grand Rapids for more complex cases.
• Join a team that includes residents and faculty engaged in a specialized OB/GYN residency program.
• Each shift will have one OB hospitalist on duty, working alongside experienced labor & delivery RNs, NICU APPs, and having access to a social worker.

Requirements

• Relevant clinical experience is essential.
• Physicians must be board certified in a relevant clinical area or board eligible, with a commitment to achieve board certification within five years of the start date (unless otherwise required by medical staff bylaws).
• Possession of an active Michigan medical license (or the ability to obtain one).
• DEA license is required.
• BLS certification (must be maintained) and ACLS/BLS certification (must be maintained).

Duties & Responsibilities

A typical day may involve:

• Providing direct patient care.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Participating in teaching and mentoring activities.
• Documenting patient information in Epic EMR.
• Engaging in quality improvement initiatives.
• Supporting community health initiatives.
