JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: H-MD- Profession: Physician Specialty: Obstetrics & Gynecology Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Orangeburg, South Carolina Facility: MUSC Health Orangeburg Health System: Medical University of South Carolina Health - Locums Coverage Period: Sep 04, 2026 Sep 11, 2026 Shift Schedule: 24-hour call shifts, 7a 7am Reason for Coverage: Coverage Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 5-6 patients (average census); approximately 500 deliveries per year Case Mix: OB/GYN, including deliveries, antepartum, postpartum, gynecologic surgery FACILITY INFORMATION No. of Beds in Department: 32 beds (10 LDRP, 16 postpartum/gyn, antepartum, exam rooms) EMR System: Epic Specialty Backup Available: OB/GYN, Anesthesia, Nursing support Support Staff Available: NPs, midwives, OR staff PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes REQUIRED PROCEDURES Vaginal deliveries Cesarean sections Gynecologic surgeries (e.g., hysterectomy, D&C) Management of antepartum and postpartum patients Level 2 nursery newborn care JOB REQUIREMENTS Other Qualifications: Current EPIC experience required; MUSC credentialing checklist required DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide 24-hour call coverage for OB/GYN department, including labor and delivery. Manage vaginal and cesarean deliveries, ensuring maternal and neonatal safety. Provide antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care for patients. Perform gynecologic surgical procedures as needed. Collaborate with nursing and midwifery staff, while independently managing call responsibilities.
