Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical ICU (MICU) travel assignment requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, CRRT proficiency, and a current LA or Compact RN license.

Details

• Hospital-based Medical ICU (MICU) setting with a high-acuity patient population
• Patient care includes COVID management, pronation therapy, and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT)
• Patient ratio is 1:2
• Specialized procedures include pronation therapy and vasopressor titration
• CRRT dialysis equipment experience required
• Floating is required as part of this assignment
• Epic EMR experience is preferred
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
• Block scheduling requests are not accommodated

Requirements

• Active LA or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of MICU or equivalent ICU experience required
• Required certifications (AHA-issued): ACLS and BLS
• Preferred certifications: CCRN, CPI, and NIHSS
• Proficiency with CRRT/CVVHD required
• Core clinical skills required include: IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator management, care of ventilated patients, HFNC, ETT/NT suctioning, continuous IV sedation, vasopressor/vasoactive drip titration, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• NURSYS report required (must be current within 4 weeks of submission date)
• Two manager/supervisor references will be required prior to contract start (Charge RN references are not acceptable)
• Must reside 65+ miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors at Ochsner Health System must have been separated for at least 1 full year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Upon accepting this assignment, you may be assigned to an Emergency Team by your unit manager, which could require you to remain at the facility during or after an emergency event or serve on a relief team
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process
• Orientation is held 5 days a week and includes completion of required facility modules
