WORK SHIFT

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED

1. Handles tickets from employees to both troubleshoot network issues and update configurations as needed
2. Helps maintain all network related hardware, switches, routers, firewalls, access points and so on.
3. Must be able to be in an on-call rotation
4. Works well with other teams to ensure the customer gets the help they need in a timely manner
5. Operates company's internal data communications systems.
6. Assists with the planning, design and implementation of local and wide-area network solutions between multiple platforms and protocols (including IP and VOIP).
7. Supports/troubleshoots network issues and coordinates with vendors for installation of items such as copper and fiber cabling, routers, switches, firewalls and wireless communication systems.
8. Works on project implementation.
9. May provide training and assists with proposal writing.
10. May conduct project planning, cost analysis and vendor comparisons.
11. Performs other duties and tasks as required.

SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* Education and/or experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and three years of related experience.
* Must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of computer software and hardware and their network applications.
* Excellent written/verbal communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
* Ability to work as a team member.
* Excellent organizational skills.
* Demonstrated time management skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Cisco networking and/or other IT certifications

COMPETENCIES

* Network hardware installation/maintenance
* Hardware and software troubleshooting

COMMENTS

Infectious Control Risk Category III:

The risk category explains whether employees are likely to meet blood or body fluids while performing their jobs. Risk category III states employment and procedures that may require exposure.
