Position Scope and Impact Moss’s Solar Electrical Field Project Engineers assist the Electrical Assistant and Electrical Project Manager in the administrative and technical management of large utility‑scale solar projects. They supervise all activities related to contract administration, change orders, submittals, procurement, and scheduling. A positive attitude and behavior are necessary as the role requires interaction with staff at all levels in an ever‑changing environment. Responsibilities Crew Management Assist in supervising all activities related to contract administration, change orders, submittals, procurement, and scheduling. Conduct quality control inspections. Verify field installations and ensure compliance with safety procedures and policies. Participate in daily superintendent meetings and jobsite meetings. Maintain activity tracking logs, construction schedule updates, and material expediting log. Coordinate storage of delivered materials and assist with agency inspections. Reporting Administer RFI process. Prepare project status reports and generate correspondence. Maintain Prolog and process progress photos. Prepare meeting agendas and minutes. Assist with managing check‑hold list. Tool Connex Expedite subcontractor and vendor agreements. Assist with subcontractor and vendor insurance and bond agreements. Track owner payments, subcontractor backcharges, and update labor cost reports. Generate and manage project cost reports. Material Acquisition Develop submittal log and establish fabrication & delivery schedule. Confirm delivery of materials, conduct submittal/SD review process. Review coordination drawings, monitor materials stored off site, coordinate owner‑furnished materials, and verify fabrication status. Assist in selection of subcontractors and vendors and identify critical issues & milestones. Change Order Management Create change requests and review scope changes. Determine schedule impacts and issue owner notifications. Expedite subcontractor and vendor pricing, prepare cost proposals, and negotiate proposal costs. Other Duties Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related discipline. Six months to one‑year minimum solar internship or full‑time experience as a project engineer or assistant project engineer in the construction industry. Strong computer skills, including familiarity with construction project management applications. Strong communication and interpersonal skills required to interface directly with owners’ representatives, the A/E team, building departments and other team members. Basic finance skills required.
