Job Title: Operator Assistant Job Description

The Operator Assistant supports machine operators in a busy production environment by loading and unloading materials, helping prepare machines for production, and assisting with manual assembly tasks. This role ensures that parts are fabricated according to work order specifications and customer requirements while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

• Support machine operators by loading and unloading materials and helping prepare machines for production runs.
• Assist with operating various production machinery and performing manual assembly tasks as needed.
• Inspect products to ensure they meet company quality, quantity, and customer standards.
• Follow all safety protocols to maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Assist with basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance on equipment under guidance.
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and maintain efficient workflow.
• Use hand tools and packaging materials to properly finish, pack, and prepare products for shipment or further processing.

• At least 2 years of experience as an operator or in a similar machine operation role.
• Hands-on experience with production and general labor in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
• Ability to operate basic production machinery and support machine operators during setup and operation.
• Proficiency in using hand tools safely and effectively.
• Experience with packaging and material handling, including loading and unloading parts.
• Measuring skills and basic math proficiency to verify part dimensions and ensure accuracy.
• Ability to follow written work orders, safety procedures, and quality standards.
• Strong attention to detail when inspecting products for quality and consistency.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented production environment.

• Experience working in a machine shop or similar industrial setting.
• Comfort with routine equipment checks and assisting with minor maintenance tasks.
• Reliability and strong work ethic in a fast-paced production environment.
• Willingness to work on 2nd shift and adapt to shift-based schedules.
• Good communication skills to coordinate tasks with machine operators and team members.

This role is based in a machine shop environment with a team of approximately 68 people, fostering close collaboration and a supportive atmosphere. The position works on 2nd shift, typically from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., providing a consistent schedule. Work is hands-on around production machinery, involving standing, moving materials, and using hand tools in a structured industrial setting with established safety and cleanliness standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waukesha, WI.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Waukesha,WI.
