Architectural Software EngineerThe job of an architect is hard. Accountable for multi-million-euro projects, they wear every hat, from creative draftsman to material specialist to Excel professional, and lose evenings and weekends to backoffice work legacy software never solved.Our mission is to give architects an easy-to-use solution so they spend their time building homes instead of fighting Excel. We're building our first true AI products to do exactly that: turning the mess of a real planning office (site photos, WhatsApp voice notes, scattered Excel, CAD, email) into the formal deliverables architects are legally on the hook for, like LVs per DIN 276, HOAI fee proposals, construction diaries, and defect records.Most "AI-native" jobs bet on a product that doesn't exist yet. This isn't one. We're serious software for German planning offices, with real users and real revenue, now rebuilding how we engineer it with coding agents as first-class teammates. We're early enough that the patterns, guardrails, and platform underneath are yours to define, not inherit.That's the rare part: a greenfield mandate inside a company that already works, on a codebase that ships to paying customers every week. We keep the team small on purpose (a few product engineers, a designer deep in product, an incoming product lead, the founders), so what you build is felt by everyone immediately. Right now the knack for shipping fast with agents, and the platform under it, lives in a few people's heads, so our speed depends on who's least swamped that week. Your job is to turn that craft into paved roads the whole team and its agents can just use.This is a deeply hands-on building role. You'll spend your days creating tooling, skills, and platform that others rely on, not firefighting tickets or reviewing everyone's PRs. Senior, but emphatically not an advisory or architecture-only seat.Shape how we build with agents: the patterns, golden paths, repo conventions as reusable skills, and the guardrails that make the safe path the easy one.Build the eval and feedback loops that let us trust agent-written changes.Lift the whole team's agentic-coding game so a small team ships like a big one.Own the AWS/Kubernetes platform, CI/CD, and sandbox, and make them self-serve for people and agents alike.Enablement is the job; classical DevOps is not. Ops is capped at roughly a third of your time, and when it creeps past that the answer is to automate or share it, never to quietly absorb it.Genuine senior depth in AWS and Kubernetes, in production. You can be trusted with cluster and permission decisions an amateur would get dangerously wrong. This is non-negotiable and not something we expect agents to bridge for you.Hands-on experience building with coding agents, recent enough to be real. We're not asking for production-grade agentic engineering on day one. Show us substantial side projects, internal tools, or experiments that prove the instinct is already yours, and we'll help you grow them to production grade here. This space is too new to fake, and too new to gatekeep on tenure.The temperament to make your own expertise unnecessary. You measure yourself by what others can now do without you. When you're on vacation, the team should miss the paved road you built, not your presence in the loop.You take vague, open-ended problems and turn them into systems, and you move engineers and stakeholders without relying on authority.A bias to adopt first and build only at the differentiator. You standardize on the best vendor stack and managed infra, and spend your building energy on the Phase0-specific layer no vendor gives us. Rebuilding commodity tooling for its own sake is the wrong instinct here.We take the hard long-term decisions over short-term success.Team first. Lasting businesses need a highly motivated team.
