AI Architect

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an AI Architect to support a federal partner located in Fairfax, VA . The AI Architect will define and lead the program’s AI strategy, design and deploy secure AI architectures, and guide the adoption of AI capabilities that improve efficiency, reduce risk, and support mission outcomes across a complex federal environment. Responsibilities Define and own the program-level AI strategy, architectures, standards, and technology roadmap aligned to mission and business objectives Design and implement scalable, secure AI solutions leveraging machine learning, deep learning, NLP, computer vision, and generative AI Identify and evaluate AI use cases that drive operational efficiencies, cost savings, and risk reduction Lead AI-related R&D, architecture trade studies, and technical evaluations to inform program decision-making Develop and communicate AI policies and guidance aligned with federal laws, frameworks, and ethical AI practices Serve as the program AI SME, mentoring teams, upskilling staff, and guiding effective AI adoption Collaborate with engineering, security, data, and leadership teams to integrate AI into enterprise systems and workflows Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field or 5+ years of hands‑on experience in AI engineering and architecture Deep knowledge of AI architectures, models, and frameworks, including security considerations for government systems Experience designing scalable, high‑performance, cost-effective AI solutions Proficiency with machine learning, deep learning, NLP, and generative AI technologies Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or C++ Experience with cloud‑based and self‑hosted AI platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), with AWS GovCloud preferred Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non‑technical stakeholders Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance Compensation Salary Range: $190,000 - $210,000 depending on experience Full Benefits Package: PTO, Paid Holidays, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Tuition Reimbursement, Paid Maternity Leave, Military Reserve Pay Offset Keywords AI Architect, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Generative AI, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Federal AI, Government AI Solutions, AWS GovCloud, Amazon SageMaker, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Databricks, Elasticsearch, Azure AI, Cloud AI Architecture, AI Strategy, Enterprise Architecture, Data Architecture, Cybersecurity Analytics, Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation, CDM Program, DHS Cybersecurity, CISA, Federal Cyber Data, NIST RMF, FISMA, FIPS, Secure AI, DevSecOps, MLOps, Data Engineering, Big Data Platforms, API Integration, System Integration, AI Governance, Ethical AI, Public Trust Clearance, Federal Consulting, SAFe Agile, Scaled Agile Framework, Fairfax Virginia, Onsite Federal Role #J-18808-Ljbffr Zachary Piper Solutions
