Step into the role

Picture your day beginning at a humming machining cell. You review a print, select the right cutters, and bring up your setup sheet. With fixtures dialed in and offsets verified, you run a first piece, measure every critical feature, make a smart tweak to tool wear, and watch a raw billet become a flawless component. You keep pace without sacrificing precision—because tight tolerances, safety, and efficiency are how you work.

What you'll handle

• Set up and run CNC mills, lathes, and machining centers to produce precision parts.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions to plan each job.
• Choose, install, and replace cutting tools; confirm proper tool paths and engagement.
• Establish work and tool offsets; complete full machine setups.
• Run first-article checks and perform thorough in-process inspections.
• Measure features with calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and indicators.
• Make program edits and dial in tool wear to hold dimensions.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and suggest process improvements.
• Consistently maintain tight tolerances while meeting production and quality goals.
• Perform routine maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Follow all safety procedures and quality requirements in a fast-paced environment.

• CNC Mill (3–4 axis VMC)
