Lead Nurse
$32 per hourHydrate IV Bar
At Hydrate IV Bar - Madison, we combine excellent nursing care with a relaxed, spa-style experience. We're passionate about health equity and expanding access to our services throughout the Madison area so more people can benefit from what we offer. We're looking for an entrepreneurial RN who is hungry to help grow a local business and brings exceptional clinical skills to the work. Excellent IV start skills are essential. You must be a highly proficient IV nurse who can confidently lead a team of nurses with equally strong IV skills. You should enjoy connecting with clients and feel comfortable discussing wellness services and memberships. This role is a strong fit for someone who wants to practice in an outpatient setting while taking ownership of team performance and business growth. Our atmosphere is relaxed, but our clinical standards are rigorous. We need someone who can make clients feel at ease while holding the team accountable for excellent care. Your role This is a hands-on supervisory position. You'll provide direct client care while managing nursing team performance and clinical inventory. You'll work closely with ownership and follow established clinical protocols under our supervising medical provider through GuardianMD, with support from the Hydrate franchise system. You'll have a voice in improving how we operate and responsibility for following through. What you'll do: Deliver exceptional IV care Demonstrate excellent peripheral IV insertion technique, including confidence assessing veins and working with difficult access within established protocols. Prioritize client comfort and sound clinical judgment, knowing when to seek assistance or elevate concerns. Assess nursing IV competencies and coach an already skilled team toward consistent, high-quality care. Perform client assessments and administer IV therapy and injections within your scope of practice and established protocols. Prepare treatments accurately and maintain infection prevention and medication safety standards. Recognize contraindications or changes in a client's condition and consult the supervising medical provider when appropriate. Complete accurate, timely documentation and protect client confidentiality. Build relationships and drive responsible growth Make clients feel welcome and comfortable discussing their wellness goals. Explain eligible services and their limitations clearly, using approved clinical information without overstating benefits. Confidently discuss pricing and memberships, helping clients choose options that fit their interests and budget. Ask for the sale when appropriate and support repeat visits through attentive service and follow-up. Coach nurses on effective client conversations while keeping clinical judgment and client choice at the center of every recommendation. Bring ideas for reaching more of the Madison community and take initiative to help turn them into results. Lead a high-performing nursing team Train and onboard nurses, assess clinical competency, and verify readiness to provide services independently. Set clear expectations and hold staff accountable for clinical standards and professional conduct. Provide direct, constructive feedback and address performance concerns in partnership with ownership. Earn the trust of experienced nurses through strong clinical practice and consistent follow-through. Help coordinate nursing coverage and communicate staffing needs. Foster a supportive environment where skilled nurses continue learning and take pride in their work. Own inventory and supply management Manage medical and retail inventory, including ordering and purchase tracking. Maintain appropriate stock levels and monitor expiration dates to prevent avoidable shortages or waste. Oversee weekly inventory counts and complete comprehensive month-end reconciliation. Review purchasing costs and report inventory discrepancies or waste trends to ownership. Coordinate with pharmacy partners and approved suppliers to resolve order issues. Keep supplies organized and ready for in-spa care and mobile services. Help the business run well Identify operational problems and follow through on practical improvements. Communicate protocol and product updates clearly to staff. Use scheduling and clinical systems confidently, troubleshooting routine issues and escalating when needed. Support local mobile appointments and events, including transporting supplies and maintaining clinical standards outside the spa. Manage your time effectively across client care and leadership responsibilities. What you bring: An active Wisconsin RN license and current BLS certification. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing. At least three years of nursing experience, with substantial hands-on experience starting peripheral IVs. Exceptional, current IV start skills. This is a required core competency, not a preferred qualification. You should be confident in your technique and capable of evaluating and coaching other highly skilled IV nurses. Demonstrated ability to train colleagues and hold others accountable. Previous supervisory experience is strongly preferred. Previous accounting or inventory experience is also preferred. An entrepreneurial mindset and a strong drive to grow the business. You notice opportunities and take action without waiting for every next step to be assigned. Sales aptitude and comfort discussing prices, recommending appropriate options, and asking clients whether they would like to purchase a service or membership. A warm, professional communication style and the confidence to handle difficult conversations directly. Strong organization and reliable follow-through, with close attention to inventory accuracy. High confidence learning technology, including electronic medical records and scheduling or point-of-sale systems with little hand holding. Working proficiency with spreadsheets and shared documents, such as Excel and Google Workspace. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for local mobile services. Ability to complete required background checks. Prior retail or aesthetics experience is a plus. You do not need to come from an aesthetics or retail background, but you should be enthusiastic about working in a service-focused retail environment. Training and introductory period This position requires one week of corporate training in Denver, Colorado, in addition to local, in-spa training in Madison. Candidates must be able to accommodate this travel requirement before the end of 2026, and the sooner the better. Your first 90 days are an introductory period focused on clinical competency and readiness to lead our team. We'll assess your IV skills and client interactions, along with your ability to manage staff and inventory, with feedback throughout the period. Compensation and benefits Base pay starting at $32/hour. Tips and sales incentives, plus performance-based growth and bonuses. These opportunities can bring total effective earnings closer to $50-60/hour, depending on client volume and performance. Eligibility for health, dental, and vision benefits after completing the 90-day introductory period, subject to plan requirements. Unlimited unpaid time off after the introductory period, subject to approval and staffing coverage. Planned requests require at least two weeks’ notice. 401(k), subject to plan eligibility requirements. Professional development and opportunities for expanded leadership responsibilities as the business grows. Schedule and work environment Enjoy an outpatient, spa-style setting. Our regular business hours are Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. You are expected to work full-time hours and manage the nursing schedule every month. Sometimes, pop-up and mobile services will be required. Scheduling flexibility is available within business needs. Some weekend availability and occasional mobile events outside regular spa hours may be required. The role involves extended periods of standing or walking, computer work, and handling supplies weighing up to 40 pounds, with assistance available for heavier items. Reasonable accommodations are available for essential job functions. Hydrate IV Bar Madison is an equal opportunity employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr
