Sr. Visual Designer - Hybrid Chicago, IL

Visual Designer

Hybrid Downtown Chicago (we are not open to 100% remote candidates)

Portfolio required include password on resume if required* showcasing strong visual design process and implementation for design systems (this role is not about design systems only)

• Deep experience with Design systems - Define and design scalable visual patterns across typography, color, layout, iconography, illustration, and motion.

• Translate visual exploration into reusable, production ready assets and patterns that can be adopted by product teams.

• Partner with Research to ground visual decisions in customer insight and usability findings.

• Contribute to the evolution of the US design system, ensuring new visual patterns are documented, accessible, and ready for adoption.

• Maintain clear documentation outlining visual standards, usage guidelines, and best practices.

• Experience with cross functional stakeholders and leadership.

• Work in short, iterative cycles to explore, test, refine, and align on visual direction.

• Exceptional visual craft with a strong eye for detail and consistency.

• Deep expertise in typography systems, color, layout, iconography, and motion.

• Proven experience designing scalable visual languages or design systems.

• Comfort balancing exploratory visual refresh work with systemization and documentation.

• Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills in complex, cross team environments.

• Ability to influence visual quality across journeys you don’t directly design yourself.

This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL.

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr.
