Job Title: Assembler Job Description

The Assembler will perform bench assembly work on surface mount technology (SMT) production lines, focusing on the final assembly of circuit boards and light mechanical assembly of fixtures. This role involves working with small hand tools and power screwdrivers in a clean, climate-controlled electronics manufacturing environment, with most work performed while seated.

• Perform final assembly of circuit boards on SMT production lines according to established procedures and quality standards.
• Complete light mechanical assembly of fixtures using small hand tools and power screwdrivers.
• Handle electronic components and assemblies with care to prevent damage and ensure reliable performance.
• Read and follow basic schematics, work instructions, and assembly documentation as required.
• Use microscopes or magnification tools when needed to inspect and assemble small electronic components.
• Apply soldering techniques to assemble or rework circuit boards, following IPC guidelines when applicable.
• Maintain a clean and organized workbench and adhere to all safety and manufacturing policies.
• Collaborate with team members and production staff to meet daily output and quality targets.
• Report any issues with components, tools, or equipment to the appropriate personnel to support continuous improvement.

• At least 6 months of electronic assembly experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Hands-on experience with electronic assembly, including working with circuit boards and electronic components.
• Ability to perform basic soldering on circuit boards with attention to quality and reliability.
• Familiarity with reading and following schematics or assembly drawings at a basic level.
• Experience with mechanical assembly using small hand tools and power screwdrivers.
• Comfort using microscopes or magnification tools for detailed electronic assembly work.
• Understanding of or exposure to IPC standards related to electronic assembly.
• Ability to work seated for extended periods while performing repetitive bench assembly tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized work instructions accurately.

• Experience soldering on circuit boards in a production or repair environment.
• Previous work in an electronics manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with small parts and fixtures.
• Ability to work effectively on either first or second shift as needed.
• Reliability and consistency in meeting production schedules and quality expectations.
• Willingness to learn new processes and adapt as equipment and facilities are upgraded.

This role is based in an electronics manufacturing environment that is climate-controlled, very clean, and comfortable. Work is primarily bench assembly, with most tasks performed while seated. Employees work on SMT lines and use small hand tools, power screwdrivers, and microscopes as part of their daily activities. Shifts are structured as 1st Shift (5:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.) or 2nd Shift (1:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.), providing options for different schedules within a modern production facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burnsville, MN.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Burnsville,MN.
