Job Details Specialty: Nuclear Medicine Technologist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: 07/13/2026 Duration: 13 weeks Hours: 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Required Qualifications One year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technician Current Nuclear Medicine Technologist/Radiography license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred Qualifications Current ARRT or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position Summary The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is a highly specialized health care professional responsible for preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, operating advanced imaging equipment, monitoring patient safety, and ensuring compliance with radiation safety standards while collaborating with healthcare teams to deliver accurate and effective diagnostic results. Essential Work Functions Educate patients about nuclear medicine procedures and address questions as they arise. Maintain and inspect nuclear medicine equipment for proper functioning, reporting malfunctions and ensuring compliance with radiation safety standards. Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals and other medications to patients according to established protocols and safety standards. Monitor patients for adverse reactions to radioactive drugs or other medications, intervening as necessary to ensure their safety. Operate medical imaging equipment to create images of organs or areas of the body according to physician orders. Document procedure details in patient records to ensure continuity of care and compliance with regulations. Follow hospital safety rules and policies and radiation safety procedures to minimize exposure to radioactive materials. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of Nuclear Medicine Technologist practice. Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills Physical Abilities – Must be able to remain stationary, move about, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, and bend. Interpersonal Skills – Must work effectively with a variety of personnel, presenting a positive attitude and professionalism. Technical/Motor Skills – Must grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment. Mental Requirements – Must cope with frequent contact with the general public, meet deadlines under pressure, and work under supervision or independently as needed. Sensory – Must possess visual acuity and ability to communicate effectively.
