Location: Provo, UT

Status: Part-Time

Hours: Monday–Thursday; 6:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m., up to 28 hours weekly

Pay/Salary: $29.14/hour

What You'll Do:

Responsibilities of the Surgical Technology Instructor include, but are not limited to:

• Delivering engaging, hands-on instruction in both classroom and lab settings.

• Supporting student growth through mentoring, regular feedback, and individualized success planning.

• Ensuring your curriculum stays current and aligned with real industry expectations.

• Partnering with fellow instructors, administrators, and industry leaders to maintain a high-quality learning experience.

• Leading by example in professionalism, safety, and workplace readiness.

• Actively participating in program development, accreditation efforts, employer advisory committees, and campus-wide events.

What We're Looking For:

We're seeking professionals who are passionate about teaching and committed to excellence. Successful candidates will have:

• Education: A high school diploma or its equivalent is required.

• Experience: A minimum of three years of recent experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist. Experience may include at least 2 years in the operating room scrub role, as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both in the past 5 years.

• Industry Credentials & Certifications: Must hold a current, surgical technology-specific credential that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA) in addition to any other credentials a person may currently retain and/or are required by the sponsoring institution, institutional accreditor(s), and/or state approval agency, if applicable.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) and Google Suite tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.). Experience with Canvas and curriculum development is a plus.

• Organizational Abilities: Strong skills in communication, time management, and organization to efficiently manage classroom and practical training responsibilities.

• Attention to Detail: A keen ability to assess student performance, ensure industry standards are met, and maintain accurate records.
