Electrical Engineer

Job TitleResponsible for preventative maintenance, installation, and repair of all electrical equipment and power and lighting systems in the facility, including motors, generators, transformer controls and mechanisms, timing devices, switches, cable, and conduits.Apply electrical theory and related knowledge to test the operation of electrical machinery, electrical control equipment, and circuitry.Work 480 VAC 3 phase motor control systems.Test motor-controlled devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings, and other electrical equipment and components.Diagnose system malfunctions, isolate causes, and correct deficiencies. Dismantles and reassembles equipment.Perform preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and diagnose causes of electrical malfunction or failure.Use different hand and diagnostic tools for testing and fixing equipment.Inspect and perform daily routine housekeeping as necessary to ensure a clean and safe work area.Completes assigned paperwork and reporting accurately during and at the end of shift.Perform all job duties with minimum supervision.Work safely, responsibly and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Is alert to hazards and changing conditions on all mine property.Communicate with management in any situation that may affect the safety of any employee or other issues that affect production or quality of product.Electrical Power Distribution: Develop, implement, and maintain the electrical power distribution network, ensuring reliable and efficient power delivery.Control Circuits: Design and implement control circuits for various mine site equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and safety.Other duties as assigned.Must have an engineering degree from an accredited university or college. Preferred degrees in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.Must have Low and Medium voltage experience is REQUIRED. Low is below 1000 Volts and Medium voltage is between 1,000 Volts and 35,000 Volts.Controls experience is preferred.Willing to sponsor and relocate engineers from Canada under TN1 program.Off-shift work is required up to 10% of the time.Must be familiar with high voltage (600v+) systems and PLC troubleshooting in industrial or mining environments.Experience in industrial manufacturing environmentMust have experience in PLC logic and Allen-Bradley PLC programmingExperience in troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of electrical control systemsPrior experience with the specification and implementation of robust sensors and sensing systemsA strong technical backgroundAbility to work effectively in a multi-tasking team environmentRequires strong problem-solving skillsMust be able to physically access all required work areasStrong written and verbal communication skillsThe ability to utilize diagnostic techniques and equipment to effectively troubleshoot and solve electrical problems.The typical work week is 10 hours/day, 5days/week, and potentially one day every other weekend per maintenance needs.
