Lead Contract Specialist
Washington Headquarters Services
Company: Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), Acquisition Directorate (AD) Location: Washington, DC About the Role Are you an elite acquisition professional ready for a high-impact mission? The Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) Acquisition Directorate (AD) is seeking a Lead Contract Specialist to provide critical contracting support to the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) and other senior DoD leaders. This is not a typical contracting role. You will operate in a high-tempo environment, managing complex, "cradle-to-grave" acquisitions that directly support the nation's defense mission. We are looking for a strategic thinker with deep expertise in both hands‑on contract execution and broader acquisition policy and mentorship. What You'll Do Lead the full lifecycle of complex federal acquisitions, from planning to closeout. Mentor and guide other contracting professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and compliance. Provide expert advice on acquisition policy, strategy, and negotiation to senior DoD stakeholders. Serve as a business advisor, developing innovative solutions for unique and challenging requirements. Key Requirements Security Clearance: Active Secret or Top Secret clearance. Certification: DAWIA Level III in Contracting. Experience: Extensive experience with a wide range of contract types and a history of holding a significant contract warrant. Dual Expertise: Demonstrated excellence in both tactical contract execution (pre-award, post-award) and strategic acquisition functions (policy, quality assurance, team leadership). If you are a driven, experienced, and mission-focused contracting leader, we invite you to apply and help shape the future of defense acquisition. #J-18808-Ljbffr Washington Headquarters Services
