Hospice Chaplain – PRNJob Type: PRN / As Needed Schedule: On-Call | 5:00 PM–8:00 AM | Varied Days of the WeekMake a Meaningful DifferenceOhio's Hospice is seeking a compassionate and experienced Hospice Chaplain to provide spiritual and emotional support to patients and families receiving hospice care.The Hospice Chaplain develops meaningful, supportive relationships with patients and families while honoring each individual's beliefs, values, traditions, and preferences.This is a PRN, on-call position with coverage needs between 5:00 PM and 8:00 AM on varied days of the week.What You'll DoProvide spiritual and emotional support to hospice patients and their families.Establish, develop, and maintain compassionate relationships with patients, families, and caregivers.Assess spiritual and emotional needs and provide individualized support based on patient and family preferences.Provide appropriate spiritual care, counseling, presence, prayer, ritual, or other support consistent with the patient's beliefs and wishes.Support patients and families as they navigate end-of-life experiences, grief, loss, and transitions.Respect and support diverse faith traditions, spiritual beliefs, and personal values.Collaborate with the interdisciplinary hospice team to support holistic patient care.Communicate relevant spiritual and psychosocial needs with members of the care team.Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services and patient care.Travel to patient homes, facilities, and other care settings as needed.Participate in on-call coverage and respond to patient and family needs during assigned hours.QualificationsMaster of Divinity (M.Div.) or equivalent theological degree preferred.Ordained or commissioned minister with ecclesiastical endorsement from a recognized faith group or religious organization preferred.Board certified, certification eligible, or actively working toward professional certification through APC, BCC-HPCC, NACC, or NAJC preferred.Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE): Four units preferred; minimum of one unit with enrollment toward completion.Three years of current active pastoral ministry or chaplaincy experience.Computer skills sufficient to accurately document services and care.Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.State-required automobile insurance.Ability to safely drive during daytime, nighttime, and inclement weather conditions.What We OfferCompetitive compensationMileage reimbursementCompany-provided technologyContinuing education and professional development opportunitiesSupport for professional certification and growthA supportive interdisciplinary teamThe opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and familiesJoin a Team That CaresAt Ohio's Hospice, our mission is to celebrate the lives of those we have the privilege of serving by providing exceptional care and support to patients and families.As a Hospice Chaplain, you'll have the opportunity to bring compassion, presence, and spiritual support to patients and families during some of life's most meaningful moments.If you're an experienced chaplain or pastoral care professional looking for an opportunity to serve others through compassionate hospice care, we invite you to apply.Ohio's Hospice complies with applicable Federal civil rights laws and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, or sex.Ohio's Hospice is proud to be platinum certified through SAGECare, which provides training and consulting on LGBT aging issues to service providers.
