Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Pay: $25.00 Per Hour

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Position Summary

The Plant Maintenance Technician is a hands-on team member responsible for supporting the maintenance, repair, and reliability of manufacturing equipment and facility systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, machinery, and facility systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system issues.
• Repair and replace equipment components including motors, bearings, belts, pumps, valves, and other machinery parts.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance situations.
• Conduct inspections, identify potential equipment failures, and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain facility systems including HVAC, compressed air, lighting, plumbing, and general building maintenance.
• Complete maintenance work orders and document repairs, parts used, and downtime.
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, modifications, and plant improvement projects.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and communicate parts requirements to management.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies.
• Support production teams in maximizing equipment uptime and operational efficiency.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and participate in after-hours or weekend maintenance activities as required.

Qualifications
Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Plumbing and pipe fitting experience, including installation, repair, and maintenance of water, air, and process piping systems.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge, including motors, controls, and sensors.
• Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and equipment drawings.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred

• Technical school, trade school, or maintenance certification.
• Experience in plastics, extrusion, compounding, machining, or related manufacturing industries.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Forklift and aerial lift certification.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to work in varying plant temperatures and conditions.
• Ability to safely use personal protective equipment (PPE).

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing facility and may require occasional overtime, weekend work, or emergency call-in support to maintain production operations
