Compensation: $119,000 – $145,000 Base Salary + Annual Bonus (flexibility up to $160,000 for exceptional candidates)

About the Opportunity

A well-established global manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead and strengthen EHS programs across four manufacturing facilities. This is a highly visible role with direct responsibility for regulatory compliance, safety initiatives, environmental programs, audits, policy development, and continuous improvement efforts.

The organization is part of a multi-billion-dollar global manufacturing group with more than 10,000 employees worldwide, while maintaining a collaborative, close-knit culture at the local operating level.

This position is considered a critical hire and offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact while helping shape the future direction of EHS across multiple facilities.

Position Overview

The EHS Manager will oversee environmental, health, and safety programs across four manufacturing sites, including three facilities located in northeast Kansas and one additional facility in the Midwest.

This leader will be responsible for building and standardizing processes, ensuring compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations, leading audits, developing policies and procedures, and driving a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.

The successful candidate will partner closely with operations leadership and play a key role in supporting future growth initiatives, including the development of the EHS function and team structure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead environmental, health, and safety programs across multiple manufacturing facilities
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS policies, procedures, and training programs
  • Manage internal and external audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting
  • Conduct incident investigations and drive corrective and preventive actions
  • Oversee safety metrics, reporting, and performance improvement initiatives
  • Support environmental permitting, compliance, and sustainability programs
  • Lead emergency preparedness and response planning efforts
  • Partner with site leadership to strengthen safety culture and accountability
  • Support future growth and development of the EHS organization

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum 7 years of Environmental, Health & Safety experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, compliance requirements, and industrial safety programs
  • Experience supporting audits, investigations, policy development, and multi-site operations
  • Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization
  • CSP (Certified Safety Professional) certification highly preferred
  • Prior leadership or people management experience is beneficial but not required

Work Environment & Travel

  • Primarily on-site position based in Sabetha, KS
  • Approximately 10–15% travel required, including periodic visits to an additional manufacturing facility
  • Standard business hours with minimal weekend requirements
