BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN - ADULT INPATIENT BEHAVIORAL HEALTH"

Responsibilities Delivers direct and indirect patient care in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of care. Performs and/or assists with patient care needs including activities of daily living as directed. Interacts with patients, makes pertinent observations of patients' behaviors, reports and records them. Remains with and observes assigned patients in a one‑to‑one situation, including off‑unit time if necessary. Assists in developing an educational process for the provision and coordination of patient care activities that promote and maintain health, foster self‑care, and improve outcomes. Plans and initiates patients' activities, including facilitating and documenting group sessions. Assists in preparation for inspection and surveys. Provides and participates in educational activities, including family education. Provides for patient safety in compliance with hospital and nursing department policies. Performs patient observations and unit safety checks, including room checks, in accordance with unit policy. Utilizes principles of non‑violent crisis intervention, including handling, restraining, and secluding agitated patients using the least restrictive means. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or a related field. Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking, and sound judgment. Strong communication skills to convey complex and/or controversial topics to a wide and diverse audience. Preferred Qualifications One (1) year experience in an acute psychiatric inpatient setting, mental health crisis response service, or related behavioral health program. License, Certification & Clearances Current Basic Life Support (BLS) approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED) program. Act 33 with renewal. Act 34 with renewal. Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal. Position Type / Expected Hours of Work Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on‑call, etc.).
