Join the PIPESTONE Veterinary Team as a Veterinary Physician Assistant!
Location: Northern Kansas / Southern Nebraska
At PIPESTONE Veterinary Services , we're passionate about supporting independent family farms that help feed the world. As we continue to grow, we're looking for an energetic, relationship-driven Veterinary Physician Assistant to join our fast-paced swine health team.
If you enjoy working directly with producers, solving health challenges, and making a meaningful impact on animal agriculture, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
What You'll Do
- Partner with veterinarians to identify disease challenges through sample collection and on-farm assessments
- Build strong relationships with pig farmers and become a trusted advisor for their operations
- Develop and promote proactive herd health programs
- Lead producer education initiatives, including:
- PQA+ Certification
- Site Assessments
- Secure Pork Plans
- Additional producer training programs
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of livestock industry experience
- Required: Previous swine industry experience
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset
Work Environment
- Agricultural swine facilities in rural communities
- Regular outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Some overnight travel required
- Hearing protection needed in certain areas
Physical Requirements
• Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, and kneeling
• Ability to occasionally lift, pull, or move up to 50 pounds
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Willingness to travel as needed
