Medical Laboratory Scientist

Job Title: Medical Lab Scientist Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Lab Scientist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of laboratory tests and procedures that are essential for patient care. You will work in a dynamic environment where your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to accurate and timely test results. Responsibilities + Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria. + Perform routine and complex technical procedures according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures. + Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality. + Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving. + Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls. + Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care. + Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures. + Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary. + Assist with processing of specimens when needed. + Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Essential Skills + Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory CLIA State requirements. + 2-4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience. + State Medical Technologist license is a plus. + ASCP or AMT certification preferred. + Ability to work independently and within a team environment. + Proficient with computers. + High level of attention to detail. + Strong communication and organizational skills. + Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus. + Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs. Work Environment You will work in a laboratory setting that prioritizes safety and proper use of personal protective equipment. Hours: 1st week of training 7a-330p M-F, 2nd and 3rd week 6a-230p Tu-Sat, the permanent schedule after training will be 10p-630am W-Sun. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Phoenix, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $39.50/hr.
