General Manager (Part-Time) Reports to: Founder / Artistic Director Status: Self-Employed Contract Worker (16–20 hours/week, flexible schedule) Compensation: $25/hour (Path to a salaried part-time position as company funding expands) Application Deadline: August 24, 2026 About the Role Albion Theatre is wrapping up its 4th full season, having built a standout reputation in St. Louis for high-quality, impactful work. Now, we’re looking for an organized, adaptable General Manager to serve as our operational engine—running day-to-day logistics, keeping our tools aligned, and helping steer the company into its next era. This is a hands-on role ideal for an arts administrator or versatile theatre professional who thrives in a multi-faceted environment. You’ll bring structure to our operations, optimize our day-to-day administrative workflow, and work side-by-side with leadership to scale our impact. The Trajectory As Albion continues to grow, this role is designed to evolve into a Managing Director position, taking on broader executive leadership as funding expands. Specific responsibilities will adapt around the strengths and interests of the right candidate. Key Activities Master Planning & Financial Oversight: Partner with the Artistic Director to build and track the annual master plan and budget—mapping out timelines, expenses, and team deliverables to ensure every show is resourced to thrive. Production & Operations Management (FOH & BOH): Oversee back-of-house and front-of-house operational logistics—including maintaining our network of designers, tech crew, and volunteers, organizing auditions, and coordinating logistics during production runs. Marketing & Audience Growth: Oversee digital marketing, email campaigns, and promotional strategies to build brand visibility and drive ticket sales. Season Curation & Rights: Participate in future season play selection and take point on securing performance licensing rights. Community & Access: Develop and launch actionable strategies to expand outreach and accessibility for underrepresented and disabled theatergoers and artists. Development & Grant Management: Work with the Board to cultivate individual and corporate donors, while leading the grant pipeline (scouting, writing, and reporting). Company Administration & Partnerships: Maintain and streamline core administrative systems, databases, and contracts. Steward key organizational relationships, including our venue partnership with the Kranzberg Arts Foundation (KAF). Knowledge, Skills & Mindset Mission-Driven: Grounded in a strong commitment to Albion’s creative values and vision. Organized & Agile: Excellent planning, execution, and interpersonal skills; you know how to keep projects moving without losing human connection. Tech-Fluent: Comfortable leveraging modern workplace tools (Excel, Word, shared drives, scheduling platforms, social media) to keep teams aligned and organized. Results & Safety Minded: Laser-focused on hitting outcomes, paired with an uncompromised concern for artistic quality and production safety.
