Marketing Copywriter

Create compelling marketing copy for Backcountry, Competitive Cyclist, Steep & Cheap, and other brands Write copy for email, SMS, paid social, display, landing pages, site merchandising, and other customer touchpoints Adapt messaging to each brand’s voice, audience, channel, and customer journey Maintain brand voice, tone, and editorial standards Optimize copy using customer insights, SEO best practices, A/B test results, and conversion data Use AI tools in daily writing workflows according to approved prompts, workflows, and quality standards Contribute ideas for improving AI tools and editorial workflows Participate in peer copy reviews and provide and receive feedback Partner with Merchandising, Creative, Marketing, eCommerce, and SEO teams Deliver polished, accurate, on-brand copy under tight deadlines Report to the Managing Editor Requirements 2+ years of professional copywriting or editorial experience, preferably in ecommerce, retail, or consumer marketing Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills Ability to adapt tone across brands and channels Experience writing marketing copy across email, digital marketing, web, and paid media Experience using generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar Strong editorial judgment and quality control Willingness to learn and follow established AI prompts, workflows, and documentation Working knowledge of SEO, conversion copywriting, and performance-driven marketing best practices Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Experience partnering across creative, marketing, merchandising, and ecommerce teams Bike riding and cycling-specific writing experience preferred Must be willing and able to attend a mandatory in-person interview Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in creating compelling marketing copy tailored to various brands and customer touchpoints, with a strong focus on SEO best practices and performance-driven marketing.
