The goal is to unlock the full potential in each colleague – empowering our people to grow as insurance professionals and add more value to our customers and AIG.How you will create an impact* Take ownership for achieving goals and outcomes.* Oversee a range of programs and processes, in addition to handling complex underwriting.* Successfully balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders and making sound decisions using data, analysis, experience, judgment, and a risk mindset.* Build effective relationships with brokers and to deliver a high standard of customer service as an example for the team to follow.* Promote a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and learning while mentoring and developing colleagues through effective leadership, role modeling, and training programs.* Facilitate personal growth and career development, supporting succession planning.* Play a key role in new business development, including attending broker events and building new relationships across the market.What you’ll need to succeed* Proven underwriting experience in Excess Casualty and a successful record of selling Environmental, Excess or Primary Casualty, NA Auto, WC, AL, GL, DBA, Foreign Casualty products to clients.* Deep technical expertise.* Proven people management skills and a record of developing more junior colleagues is highly desired.* The ability to analyze financial statements.* Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.* Good organizational and time management skills.* Customer and sales-orientated behaviors: motivated, tenacious, focused, technically skilled, proactive, and accountable.Ready to take your career to the next level? For positions based in Chicago the base salary range for this position is $145,000-$175,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. Your actual compensation will be dependent on your skills, experience, and qualifications.
