Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse in Sacramento. This role involves providing specialized patient care within a critical care environment, managing complex medical conditions such as ARDS, Sepsis, and post-operative care. The position requires working night shifts and supporting the facility's high-acuity patient population.

Job Details

• Shift Time: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS certification, 2 years of ICU experience, active license to submit, BSN preferred
• Schedule: 12 hr shifts, 645 PM to 1915 AM or 1845 PM to 0715 AM, with weekend rotations (EOW) and the possibility of extra shifts
• Additional Information:
  • Experience or skills with CRRT (preferred) and cardiac care are advantageous
  • Must be able to titrate drips including vasoactive medications, sedation, Heparin, and Insulin
  • Charge nurses generally do not take patients; relief charges are scheduled once a week
  • ICU is staffed with nurse aides as Safety Attendants and has a hospitalist or intensivist available 24/7
  • Equipment includes vents (Drager, Hamilton), CPAP, and BiPAP systems
  • Nurses are required to read and interpret EKG strips using Phillips monitors
  • Orientation includes 2 shifts in Medical ICU, and 1 shift in Trauma, Neuro, and Surgical ICUs
  • The facility has in-house pharmacy available 24/7 and uses Cerner for charting
  • Float to CSICU is within scope; mid-shift float to other facilities is rare
