Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg (5SE) position at a Level 1 trauma center, requiring prior travel experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Acute care Med/Surg unit (5SE) in a 47-bed department at a Level 1 trauma center
• Patient population includes general medical/surgical and surgical oncology patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1 on day shift and 6:1 on night shift
• Equipment used includes Epic (EMR), AccuDose, bladder scanner, Philips monitors, and telemetry
• Epic EMR experience required
• 12-hour shifts rotating days and nights, with every other weekend required
• Every other holiday (EOH) coverage required
• May float to any Med/Surg unit on any campus
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active ND or compact RN license required; please indicate issuing state
• Current BLS certification (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience in a hospital of at least 200 beds
• Experience at a Level 2 or higher trauma center required
• Travel nursing experience required, unless candidate has extensive experience at a large Level 1 facility
• Epic EMR experience required
• BSN not required
• Surgical oncology experience preferred but not required
• Two professional references required: one supervisor reference within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and one peer or supervisor reference from the same specialty within the last 3 years
• Certifications must be active and copies provided for consideration

Additional Information

• Collaborates with inter-professional colleagues including physicians to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Orientation consists of 1 day of lead center training followed by two 12-hour preceptored shifts on the unit
• Navy blue scrubs required
• All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
• Candidates living between 60 and 80 miles of the facility are eligible but will be paid at a reduced local travel rate
• Candidates with previous employment at any Sanford Health location must disclose this; prior Sanford employees must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their submission date
