Specimen Processing Team Lead

Job Responsibilities Assist in the supervision of the day-to-day operations of the department. Help lead the team in their daily processes and procedures. Assist with preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing. Oversee routing of specimens to their respective prep areas. Encourage process improvements and best practices. Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy. Resolve any production errors as requested by management. Research and resolve production errors while escalating when necessary. Engage in continuous process and service-level improvements. Enforce and manage policies and procedures. Perform administrative duties as needed. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. 3 years or more experience in lab, accessioning, data entry, or production. Preferred Qualifications Associate’s degree. 3 years or more experience working in a clinical laboratory. 3 years or more experience as a people leader. Additional Standards Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills. Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment. Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position. Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures. Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
