Physician Gastroenterology

Located in Denville, New Jersey 07834. Position Overview The Consensus Health Gastroenterology Physician will diagnose, treat, and manage disorders of the gastrointestinal tract in adult patients. This outpatient role provides evidence‑based care within an integrated healthcare delivery model, emphasizing strong provider‑patient relationships and multidisciplinary collaboration. In‑patient or hospital coverage is not required. Key Responsibilities Perform standard diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures (EGD, colonoscopy). Provide outpatient infusion services, ultrasound, breath testing, and Fibroscan. Maintain an in‑office pathology lab for biopsy specimens. Conduct procedures at affiliated ambulatory surgical centers and outpatient hospital units. Participate in on‑call coverage for evening and weekend phone calls. Responsibilities Optional Choose to perform advanced outpatient procedures (ERCP, EUS) if desired; not required. Potential secondary income through ownership interests in an ambulatory surgical center. Qualifications, Education, and Experience Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) licensed in New Jersey. Board‑certified or board‑eligible in gastroenterology. Completion of an accredited internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship. DEA controlled‑substance registration. Basic Life Support certification (CPR/AED). Prior experience with an electronic medical record (EMR) system. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency in performing EGD and colonoscopy for screening, diagnostic, and therapeutic indications. Compensation $325,000–$400,000 per year, based on level, experience, and net collections percentage. The range reflects first‑year employment and may be influenced by additional factors and market data. Physical/Mental Demands and Work Environment Regular walking, bending, standing, and office equipment operation. Occasional lifting of 10–25 pounds. Requires close vision and adaptive focus.
