Production Specialist

The Production Specialist supports manufacturing and production operations by assisting in the cutting, assembly, and handling of building materials. This role plays a key part in ensuring products are produced accurately, safely, and efficiently. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active environment.

• Produce building products according to work orders, layouts, and specifications  
• Read and interpret production paperwork, blueprints, and measuring tools to ensure accuracy  
• Measure, mark, position, and fasten materials using hand and power tools  
• Inspect materials and completed products to ensure quality and compliance with specifications  
• Identify and remove damaged or non-conforming materials 
• Set up workstations, tools, and materials for production runs 
• Move completed products to staging or designated production areas 
• Perform quality checks and support changeovers as needed during production 
• Maintain awareness of production schedules and workflow priorities 
• Follow all safety policies, PPE requirements, and operational procedures 
• Inspect tools and equipment before use and report any safety or maintenance concerns 
• Operate equipment and machinery safely and responsibly 
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area 
• Work closely with supervisors and team members to meet daily production goals 
• Communicate production issues, material shortages, or quality concerns promptly 
• Support continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives 
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous manufacturing, production, construction, carpentry, warehouse, or related experience is a plus but not required
• Familiarity with work orders, blueprints, layouts, or technical drawings is a plus
• Previous experience with hand tools, power tools, or production equipment is a plus
• Experience within truss, building components, millwork, or other building-products manufacturing is a plus
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification is a plus

Work Environment and Requirements

• Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing and production environment
• Frequent exposure to machinery, moving equipment, dust, noise, vibration, and varying temperatures
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive physical tasks
• Ability to regularly lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance or mechanical equipment used for heavier materials
• Frequent use of hand tools, power tools, and production equipment after appropriate training
• Required PPE must be worn in designated production areas
• Overtime, weekends, or extended hours may be required based on production schedules
