Custodian
Goodwill Industries of South Mississippi and Goodworks
MISSION CONTRIBUTION: Assists in the maintenance of contracted facilities through the efficient and effective application of custodial maintenance procedures, in accordance with the desired Goodwill image. FUNCTION: Under the direct supervision of the Custodial Assistant Team Lead (ATL) or Lead Custodian, and the Success Coach, is responsible for assisting in the custodial maintenance of facilities in a neat and clean appearance. SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Ensures 100% world-class customer service.
- Clean, dust and wipe furniture.
- Sweep, mop or vacuum floors.
- Empty and clean wastebaskets and trash containers.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures. Refill restroom dispensers.
- Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. Use as directed.
- Wash accessible interior and exterior windows. Clean blinds.
- Performs assigned duties within the framework of our PRIDE Core Values.
- Attends in-service and related training as assigned by contracts leadership.
- May be asked to participate in activities outside of Goodwill.
- Performs other duties as assigned by contracts leadership.
- Ability to utilize a wide array of custodial chemicals; general cleaning chemicals
- Ability to safely operate custodial equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to follow instructions
- Able to bend, reach and stand for extensive periods of time and lift up to forty pounds. May be required to lift heavier goods/items with the assistance of another team member.
- Able to perform tasks that require repetitive motion; i.e. mopping, sweeping, etc. Manual dexterity is required.
- Must be available to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Must have a reliable means of transportation.
