Gastroenterologist Position Summary \n

The Gastroenterologist provides comprehensive medical care for patients with disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas, and biliary system. This role includes the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic digestive diseases, performance of endoscopic procedures, and collaboration with multidisciplinary care teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with gastrointestinal, hepatic, and pancreatic disorders
\n
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including upper endoscopy and colonoscopy
\n
• Manage conditions such as GERD, inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, gastrointestinal bleeding, and colorectal cancer screening
\n
• Interpret diagnostic tests, imaging, and pathology results
\n
• Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
\n
• Provide inpatient consultations and outpatient clinic services
\n
• Collaborate with surgeons, oncologists, primary care providers, and ancillary services
\n
• Educate patients and families regarding disease processes, treatment options, and preventive care
\n
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the electronic health record
\n
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and service line initiatives
\n

• Outpatient gastroenterology clinic with procedural endoscopy suite
\n
• Hospital-based inpatient consult coverage
\n
• Call coverage shared within the gastroenterology group
\n

\n
• Adult patients with a broad range of gastrointestinal conditions
\n
• Preventive, diagnostic, and longitudinal care
\n

\n
• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
\n
• Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency
\n
• Completion of an accredited Gastroenterology fellowship
\n
• Board certified or board eligible in Gastroenterology
\n
• Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the practicing state
\n
• DEA registration or eligibility
\n
