Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/Telemetry position requiring cardiac monitoring skills and an Alabama or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting
• Patient population requires Med Surg/Tele, Telemetry, and PCU/Stepdown level care
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:30
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Floating to MedSurg units required
• Responsible for starting IVs and managing heparin protocols
• Manages cardiac drips without titration

Requirements

• Active RN license (Alabama or Compact) required, pending license acceptable
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Charting system experience required (any system)
• Strong cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams required
• Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Central and peripheral line care/management experience required
• Respiratory care skills including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols required

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive cardiac and telemetry nursing care within a fast-paced PCU environment
• Requested time off (RTO) limited to a maximum of 7 days
• Candidates must reside within a 60-mile radius to qualify for the local rate
• Local candidates are welcome to apply

• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel position
